‘Rooted in Resilience’: GreenPoint Ag Hosts the 2025 Southern Agronomy Summit in Nashville

GreenPoint Ag welcomed row-crop farmers and agricultural professionals from across nine states to Nashville for the 2025 Southern Agronomy Summit. The January 7-9 event, themed “Rooted in Resilience,” brought together over 200 growers for three days of education, collaboration, and insight from leading industry experts.
Now in its fourth year, the Summit focused on equipping attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the unique challenges of Southern agriculture. With diverse breakout sessions and engaging keynote speakers, the event emphasized innovation, community, and success in the field.
The Summit kicked off with a warm welcome from Amy Winstead, GreenPoint Ag's VP Sales and Operations, who set the tone for the event by encouraging attendees to embrace the opportunity to learn and connect.
GreenPoint Ag President and CEO Jeff Blair followed with remarks highlighting the importance of collaboration in the industry.
“This summit brings the entire supply chain together to have deep agronomic discussions,” Blair said. “Farming in the South is different — it’s tougher. Our role is to help growers succeed by addressing these unique challenges, from varying soil types to diverse crop requirements.”
Blair also underscored the critical role of trust in agriculture, particularly within the Co-op system.
“Lean in, get to know each other, and rely on the expertise of others,” Blair urged. “Success in agriculture is built on a foundation of trust and collaboration.”
Keynote speakers included former NBA player and motivational speaker Walter Bond and Pro Farmer’s Washington Bureau Chief, Jim Wiesemeyer, who provided insights into agricultural policies and trade updates. A panel discussion featuring leaders from WinField United, Alabama Farmers Cooperative, Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, and GreenPoint Ag offered perspectives on the state of the industry.
Breakout sessions addressed a variety of topics, from biologicals and artificial intelligence to weed management and planting strategies for Southern crops like rice, cotton, and peanuts. Attendees also explored emerging technologies such as spray drones and risk mitigation tools to enhance profitability and efficiency.
“This event provided valuable insights that we can share with our customers to help them make informed decisions,” said Kevin Martin of Knox Farmers Cooperative. “For example, we learned about alternative weed control options to address challenges with pigweed and other resistant species.”
The Summit also served as a platform for networking, with 184 representatives from GreenPoint Ag, 104 from Alabama Farmers Cooperative, 186 from Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, and 172 vendors and manufacturers in attendance.
